Liberals, The Dumbest Creatures On The Planet

This is too too good not to share.

“My favorite bit is the one where Chris Matthews, who I believe takes himself seriously as a journalist, declares: ‘“I hate that even-handed, so-called objective journalism. You know, you can’’t say something isn’t true if it’’s true…’.”

James Delingpole makes the point that The science is settled: US liberals really are the dumbest creatures on the planet. He also something this writer has said time and time again: there is real science and there is political science. Our liberal friends don’t know the difference.

As Mark Twain taught us more than a century ago,

“It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble.
“It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.”

  1. Almost fair rebuttal, except the numbers are more on the side I quoted.

Some percentage of Christians do take the Bible literally, although a far larger percentage believe it to be a good representation of the actual history, translated through the viewpoints of several different generations of scribes and transcribes. While most of those evangelical and other fundamentalist Christians are often conservative, not even all of them are.

Meanwhile, I maintain that a far larger percentage of liberals believe their political science to be a good representation of the actual world around them.

  2. (Psst: if you’re gonna talk numbers, you really ought to present actual numbers)

    (just sayin’)

(cuz I tend to believe as you do, but you mentioned numbers which transcend belief and simply are. Facts rule.)

    (I mean, right?)

    (‘k, I wasn’t here)

  3. Well, ppl would call me a liberal because I am strongly prochoice, yet I am not on board with Gorescience. So idk how you are going to sort out numbers. You’d have to do your own poll, lol.

  4. @gekko: “(Psst: if you’re gonna talk numbers, you really ought to present actual numbers)”

This was an “Extra,” doncha know?

According to Gallup, about one-third of the American adult population believes the Bible is the actual word of God and is to be taken literally word for word. This percentage is slightly lower than several decades ago.

OTOH, according to the Christian Broadcasting Network, some 80 percent including “born again” Christians believe that “God helps those who help themselves” is a direct quote from the Bible.

Meanwhile Science Daily reported in April that, Americans have become increasingly polarized on the environmental issue, according to a first-of-its-kind study led by a Michigan State University researcher.

Of those who identify as Republicans, about 49 percent said in the 2001 Gallup survey that they believe the effects of global warming have already begun — a number that dropped to 29 percent in 2010. Meanwhile, the percentage of Democrats who believe global warming has already begun increased from about 60 in 2001 to 70 in 2010.

    And there you have it.

  5. Gee, it’s confusing. Australia’s conservative party is called the Liberal Party which is at the moment Her majesty’s loyal opposition over against the ruling Labor Party.

Darn confusing thing. I wish the Tories would call themselves the Tories or the Conservative Party or something like that, because one has to explain this stuff to bewildered Americans and Brits.

  6. I write from an American perspective where the “Liberals” want to give away the “Conservatives'” ranch and the Conservatives want to keep it.

  7. That’s not exactly true, Bob. There are loony liberals, as Dick notes. But there are also cuckoo conservatives as he grudgingly admits, who would lurve to turn the U.S. into a repressive religious regime. Sure they’d “keep the ranch” — and turn it into a big ol’ church. Liberals and moderates are forever fighting to keep the cuckoos from imposing their views on everyone, and because we don’t fight hard enough on some fronts, they are winning (abortion), but on others they are losing (gay rights).

  8. Grudgingly? Heh.

It’s actually the moderates who must forever fight to keep the cuckoos and the loonies from imposing their views on everyone, and because we don’t fight hard enough, on some fronts they are winning (Obamanation), but on others they are losing (gay rights).
