  1. Did I ever mention that in 1995 my book “School Board Leadership 2000” was written on an old IBM (either XT or AT) with a green screen. It had a whopping 640 kb memory, and I put the book on five-and-a-fourth-inch floppies. I used MultiMate as the word processor, and the editor/publisher had to scan all the pages into PageMaker–which was the newest desktop publishing software technology at the time, yet antiquated by today’s standards.

To make things worse, scanning technology was in the newbie stage, and odd symbols kept coming up out of nowhere. But we got it done, and I eventually sold more than 20,000 copies of that rag. I still sell one or two a month from time to time.
